April 22 is the date Cloverfield will slither and stomp and smash its way to our DVD shelves, according to Paramount Home Entertainment. Along with the expected anamorphic widescreen transfer and English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio, the disc will come with these extras and Easter eggs, such as the intriguingly cryptic "Alt Ending #1" and "Alt Ending #2":

BEFORE I FORGET (2007) Dir: Jacques Nolot Nolots entry at this years FCS is exactly the kind of film that the program was made to highlight. Confrontational, gripping and a little too serious, its an excellent entry to Nolots oeuvre and one which has whetted my appetite to see more of his films. Obviously there’s been a huge amount of hype and mystery around this flick. And I’m happy to say that underneath it all is an absolutely kick ass monster flick. Cloverfield does not disappoint.
The Story:
Pretty much a group of friends are caught in a pickle as a giant monster that seems to have come from somewhere under the sea launches an attack on New York City. Receiving a desperate phone call from the love of his life, Rob (Michael Stahl-David), Lily (Jessica Lucas), Marlena (Lizzy Caplan) and Hud (T.J. Monster-takes-Manhattan flick CLOVERFIELD has been generating buzz ever since a teaser trailer shocked audiences with a shot of the Statue of Libertys head crash-landing into Soho. The film recently earned a rave review , and some analysts are already predicting that its lean budget, modest marketing costs, and impressive Internet hype, will make CLOVERFIELD the most profitable film of 2008. However, despite having so many things going for it, come Jan. 18, CLOVERFIELDs success will ultimately hinge on its most closely guarded secret: the monster. Producer J.J. This small little monster movie arrives on a fine DVD... though don't expect anything from the commentary. Flawed yet immensely enjoyable, Cloverfield is an American monster tale unlike any other. With its obvious Godzilla and 9/11 influence, Cloverfield is unforgettable. The story may be clichd and the frustrating lack of answers always sticks in the back of your mind, but this is the best ...
