Before Lindsay Lohan killed her career doing multiple stints in rehab, stealing cars or having high speed chasesshe actually slaughtered it with some of the worst career choices a burgeoning actress can make. Her dual roles in I KNOW WHO KILLED ME take the cake for some of the worst acting I have ever seen. It turns out I am not just running my mouth as the people backing the 28th Annual Razzie Awards appear to agree with me handing out two nominations to Lindsay for I KNOW WHO KILLED ME. Another notable nomination goes to Eddie Murphy being nominated four times for the different characters he plays in Norbit. Overall, Lohans I KNOW WHO KILLED ME walks away with the highest amount of overall nominations with an astounding nine. I NOW PRONOUCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY and NORBIT tie for second place with eight nominations overall. Honestly, for an awards show, Im sure coming up with these nominations isnt brain science and theyve probably hired a couple of eight-year-olds to point out exactly how sucky, sucky can be and presto, you have the Razzies! Anyways, let us know if you feel like there are any films out there that were overlooked for being as terrible if not worse than the ones up for awards. One could ask themselves which upcoming project is more Barton Fink -esque, Darren Aronofsky ‘s The Wrestler or David Mamet ‘s Redbelt . Considering Mamet ‘s playwright-turned-screenwriter-turned-director career, I give him the leg-up. Redbelt is a mixed martial arts drama starring the compulsively watchable Chiwetel Ejiofor along with Mamet stalwarts Ricky Jay , Joe Mantegna and David Paymer , which at first seems to be burdened with the oddball casting choice of Tim Allen . The Spanish Prisoner and Steve Martin ‘s performance therein gives me hope that Allen will not be an albatross around this pictures neck. The trademark hard edge and razor-snap dialogue is all there, and there is no sign of any of Mamet ‘s wives in the picture; Brit beauty Emily Mortimer and City of God ‘s Alice Braga aim to spice up the fight-club scene. Redbelt is set for limited release in North American for April 25, 2008. read more »
