Where is the hospital I was born at? (in Brooklyn, NY)
I am trying to figure out what has become of the hospital I was born at. I was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1969. The hospital on my Birth Certificate says "Brooklyn Jewish Medical Center". My family moved to Queens a few years after I was born and then I moved out of New York altogether when I was 27. I never really knew Brooklyn that well, although I have been trying to visit there more over the years.
When I Google "Brooklyn Jewish Medical Center" I don't get much in the way of results. From my research it seems like it is most likely one of two places.

I'm trying to figure out what percentage of people born in 1890 were still alive in 1920 and then 1950 and so on, until we can say for certain that every person born in 1890 is 100 percent definitely dead. I've looked at the 1890 and 1920 census, but they don't have mortality tables.
(I'm specifically looking for values for 19th century populations. Not necessarily 1890, but in that ballpark...I figure 1890 is easier than 1891 because there was a census in 1890.)
I'm mainly curious about how WWI and WWI and other major events shaped the mortality curve -- for instance, statistically were __% of men born in 1890 likely to be alive in 1917, but really only __ % of men born in 1890 were alive in 1917 because of the war? read more »
Do these five movies have anything in common?
5. Jersey Girl (2004)
The most damning praise that can be heaped upon Kevin Smith’s Jersey Girl is to call it “sweet” and nothing else.
All his movies have a core of sickly sweetness, but his other movies—including his upcoming Zack and Miri Make a Porno —masquerade the sentimentality beneath a blisteringly outrageous stream of obscenities and sex talk. If he were born 70 years earlier, he could have become a perfectly competent scriptwriter, perhaps following in the wake of Preston Sturges and becoming a writer/director of tart-tongued witfests that pushed the boundaries of the time. But he was fortunate enough to be born in 1970, coming of age in the early 90s when technology had advanced sufficiently to allow him to make a movie that showcased a sense of humor itching to push the boundaries of his time. read more »
Thai martial arts flick, and much mulled-over Twitch favourite, Chocolate is coming to ‘selected’ cinemas in the UK on the 24th October. Realistically this will be a handful of art house theatres in London and, if we’re lucky, a smattering elsewhere. The female led action from the director of Ong Bak (Prachya Pinkaew) is also coming to our lovely island courtesy of Cine Asia on DVD and Blu-Ray from the 3rd November.

I am a 28-year old South American girl, living in London for the past 3 years. I am a nice person and quite sociable, am reasonably good looking and have a bunch of lovely friends, great job, etc. The problem is, I've had three long-term relationships for the past...seven years? And I never had any time to breathe in between boyfriends, it was always ending one relationship and starting another within a matter of weeks. Now I feel the need to split up with my boyfriend -- who really loves me -- mainly because of that fact, that I haven't had the time to be with myself... I regret not being single for longer because I feel I am wasting my youth by living the life of a married person. I don't want to hurt my boyfriend as he is a great person and I love him a lot, but more as a best friend, not as a lover anymore. read more » THE MUMMY RETURNS is set in 1935, 10 years after the events of the first film.
